A headless body of a commercial motor-cyclist has been found in front of Campus II of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Estako West local government area of Edo State.
The severed head of the victim was found not too far away from where motor-cycle was kept.
It was not immediately clear if it was a case of murder or ritual killing, but eyewitnesses claimed the victim was killed by a hit and run lorry.
The Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Moses Bature, who confirmed the incident, gave the name of the victim as Clement.
Bature told The Nation correspondent that the corpse has been deposited at the mortuary, adding that the cause of the death was has not been ascertained.
He said, “We didn’t see any vehicle in that place. We cannot say whether it was a hit and run and any other thing.”
“People said they saw the headless body in the morning and called the police. It was the police that called us.”
