Veteran actor Chiwetalu Agu’s sister Joy Agu who lives in USA took to social media to share photos of her brother in the 80s and wrote…
This is my brother, Chiwetalu Agu’s pictures in the 80s and now. I found the first picture in our family album in the villa yesterday and I laughed. I remembered the very day he went to one of the studios in Asata then to take that picture. He was one of the happening guys in our neck of the hood, Ogui, his jobs (N.T.A and NITEL) then. He was always very particular about his looks and spent about 2hrs getting ready for work or any function then. He wore the best stilettos, bongo trousers, close-fitted shirts and had all shapes and sizes of electric combs that were in the market just for his hair and jaw beard. He made the best egusi soup. He bought me the first trouser I wore after my S.S.C.E result came out, as our late father forbade us wearing such until a certain adult age. He has some unique dance steps that will crack the hell outta your ribs and had many good and humourous friends. You will know when they were around from the sounds of laughter coming from the corner of our house in Carter Street, where they gathered. Chiwetalu Agu, the njakili master. He is well known and loved’.
